A married couple buy a fairly run-down seaside bed & breakfast establishment, and with their four children aged 6, 9 13 and 15, they leave their ordinary but comfortable life in the suburbs and move in.

Some members of the family are more ready to embrace the new lifestyle than others. Much of the comedy value comes from the dynamics of the family – their differences, personalities and the comedy banter that ensues, plus there is a great deal of ‘things going wrong’ slapstick.
